A gauze swab is a commonly used tool in the medical field and can be found in most first aid kits. It is a sterile material mainly made of cotton and is usually used with antibacterial ointments or ointments to clean and cover open wounds or wounds.
When used as a medical dressing, woven gauze is usually made of cotton. It is especially useful for dressing wounds where other fabrics might stick to the burn or laceration.
To use a gauze swab: You will place it directly over the open wound or injury. Wash your hands beforehand, and keep the gauze clean (avoid touching it) whilst applying by holding the edges. Apply your ointment if desired. If you are using gauze to dress a wound, you should regularly change and re-apply the dressing.
