Eye Pad

Eye patches cover your eye, so they’re a great way to protect your eye after surgery or other procedures. They can help prevent infection after cataract surgery and stop dust or other items from getting into your eye and causing irritation. A patch can also help you avoid rubbing or touching your eye after surgery.

Application: Post operative dressing for moderate and heavily secreting wounds and injuries.
Dressings specifically designed for treating injuries of the eye. Eye dressings include low adherent wound pads which are held in place by a stretchy conforming bandage. Eye dressings are a recommended additional to any well stocked HSE compliant First Aid Kit.
Reasons for applying an eye pad • to ‘rest’ the eye e.g., hyphaema, vitreous haemorrhage. • to aid healing following trauma e.g., corneal abrasion. • to protect the eye e.g., following surgery and procedures requiring corneal anaesthesia.
