EMERGENCY VENTILATOR-TRANSPORT VENTILATOR:
Very compact, transport ventilator finds its place in many emergency or hospital services for adult, child or newborn patients. Usable on adult, pediatric or newborn patients. Type of Ventilation: Volumetric IPPV – IPPV cycled in time with voltage support.
Mechanical ventilators are machines that act as bellows to move air in and out of your lungs. Your respiratory therapist and doctor set the ventilator to control how often it pushes air into your lungs and how much air you get.
A typical setting is –2 cm H2O. Too high a setting (eg, more negative than –2 cm H2O) causes patients who are weak to be unable to trigger a breath. Too low a setting (eg, less negative than –2 cm H2O) may lead to overventilation by causing the machine to auto-cycle.
It combines a pressure limit (pressure control) with volume assurance, thus guaranteeing a minimum minute ventilation. The ventilator adjusts the pressure from breath to breath, as the patient’s airway resistance and respiratory system compliance changes, in order to deliver the set tidal volume.
