Combine Dressing Pad is used to pack a large bleeding wound after initial bleeding has been controlled by direct pressure. Combine Dressing Pad protects a patient’s wound and reduces risk of infection. It should be applied with pressure and secured with a bandage.
A dressing or compress is a piece of material such as a pad applied to a wound to promote healing and protect the wound from further harm. A dressing is designed to be in direct contact with the wound, as distinguished from a bandage, which is most often used to hold a dressing in place. Modern dressings are sterile.
A combine dressing pad should be used on heavily bleeding or exuding wounds. They can be either a primary or secondary dressing. Since combine pads do not have adhesive, they need to be secured by a tape or wrap. To care for a wound, apply the combine pad directly to the wound and apply pressure.
Combine dressing pad are Non adherent absorbent over wrap enables dressing to be changed and wound can be inspected without disturbing the healing process. Combine dressing pad are sterilised by Gama Radiation / E.O.
- Clean wound with water or antiseptic, avoiding clots or congealed blood.
- Remove sterile combine dressing pad from wrapping and place firmly over wound.
- Secure combine dressing pad with a firm bandage. Ensure pressure is not too tight by checking pulse below wound.
