Infant Radiant Warmer

Radiant Warmers consists of an open tray (where the baby is kept) and the artificial heating is provided by a heating mechanism mounted overhead. The heating mechanism consists of quartz which produces the desired heat and a reflecting mechanism to divert the heat at the baby tray.
Infant warmers are designed to regulate and maintain a newborn’s body temperature. They eliminate radiant heat loss by keeping heat that would otherwise escape their body. Newborns, particularly preterm infants, are at risk of rapid body heat loss due to their small size and lack of body fat.
Radiant warmers are used in hospitals to maintain the body temperature of the newborns. Because a baby loses body heat rapidly, radiant warmers are used as a source of external support. The warmer is mostly used in areas that are cold to make the infant’s body temperature stable.
Radiant warmers are used to maintain body temperature in preterm babies and assist with procedures. Essential steps for nurses include properly assembling and using the warmer, monitoring temperature, responding to alarms, providing skin care, repositioning the baby, and documenting care.
If no probe is connected to the Atom, you may set to manual warming mode, with a heater output up to 100% in preparation for a new admission. Use the arrow keys to adjust heat output or desired set temperature for infant. Press Power On Button on the front interface of unit.
